My dad sent me this last week from an email he got on the 3rd.
Hi All,
Some of you might be aware that one of our 'brothers' in the Classic Car fraternity suffered a terrible blow recently. John Booth, organizer of the weekly 'Rockin' the Waterfront' cruise night at Pier 4 in Hamilton, was involved in a serious crash while returning from Florida last month. John was only slightly injured, but his wife of 53 years died of her injuries the following day.
Obviously, John will be unable to take the reigns at the cruise night for some weeks and the co-sponsoring clubs, of which we are one, have been asked to step up with some volunteers.
The cruises take place every Thursday evening, at the beautiful Pier 4 Park at the foot of John Street in Hamilton (weather permitting). Volunteering need not be a huge commitment, and can be as little as assisting in parking while the regular helpers take a hot-dog break. Half an hour with a flag in your hand will make all the difference!
The cruises start this Thursday, 5th June, and the website is:
http://www.rockinthewaterfront.ca/index.html.
Pier 4 Park is a very scenic spot and attendance often exceeds 300 cars.
Please help out if you can!
Regards,
John Griffith, Chair
