I also hope not to get left behind at the border again - like when we went to the NYFOC meet 2yrs ago.

Where you turned back or did they just leave you to find your own way down?

We travel together, so we stick together. A good rule in convoys is to watch the guy behind you & make sure they're keeping up. You loose sight of they're car, he/she doesn't know where to go next so slow down & let them catch up to you. Eventually it will be like a caterpillar effect and everybody slow down till whomever catches up with the pack.

Speed control: In Canada, I have no problem with doing about 15km over the limit, that's a slap on the wrist ticket, no points deducted. When we're in the states, we stick to the limit +/- 2mph, I don't want any hassle with law enforcement down there. How does everyone else feel about speed limit in Canada? Gas mileage can be a concern for most of us.

I have my 3 FRS with me, dad will be getting one & Luke the other. Just set my FRS's to the channel, seems the last time I used them was on July 24 (20??) :D

My dad will be driving down in his shadow (the Chrysler P-body 8-) ), so there will be room in his car for anything. Thought about trying to put my tent in his car for the show, but might not fit. Just barely fits in the back of my old SE with blower motor removed. It would be good for those just in case rainy weather but can't really secure it down in a parking lot.

Sargeants, are you picking up Brian on the way out or is he being dropped of at the meet point?

I got my GPS with me, cell phone plus a couple of old unlocked cell phones for me & my dad. Planning on getting pre paid international cards while we're down there to keep in touch. Telus gave me the unlock codes for free

Everyone got through the line quicker than me (split up to get through around the same time.. but I picked a slow lane)... then were forced out of the lot and directly on the highway.
Of course I chose the wrong direction and had to do a loop and find my way.

I'm good with that - 10-15 over (standard flow) and right on with the US idea. At least this trip I have mph on my speedo, didn't for the NYFOC one so I was hoping everyone around me was doing the limit
Over my past tracked tanks - I'm averaging just shy of 10L/100km. Should be better at a steady highway drive, but count on stopping every ~300kms for a re-fill.

Brian is coming to my place early Weds to head to the meet point... going to leave his car in my Fiero's spot.

Hey Steve how you doing? By chance where you in Scarborough Thursday? Thought I saw you come off the exit from DVP & O'Conner dr. I wasn't fast enough with the horn.

I'm great, almost for sure that would have been me :)

Sounds like we have a good little convoy going down. Now to go prep the Fiero

And you didn't see me in my Fiero :( second car in when you turned onto O'Conner.

Oh I had no idea, I didn't see a Fiero, I must have been off in my own little world.

I planning on doing the same

re speed limits, I just go with the flow and slower then at least one guy a head of me. But I'm not one to be the slowest on the road and have people constantly pass me. In the states though I have no idea, haven't driven down there.

Still have my number Adam? (I have yours)

filling at usa pumps with a cdn cc:

"Enter the 3 numerical digits from your postal code plus 00. So for example, if your Postal code is T2M 5X7 (I just made that one up) then punch in 25700 as the zip code."

not sure if it works, but will try :)

Well - after 3 alignment attempts, the shop got it right. The third came after I re-worked the upper control arm/balljoints last night.
It's not perfect, but is good enough to drive around. Still no front swaybar, but stable at speeds... rather pleased.

I don't own a show-piece, but it's my "piece" to show.. :P

See y'all in the morning.
