Location: Just North of the GTA, Ontario
DATE: Sunday July 28th
TIME: 9:00 am meet up time, departure at 9;30 am, to beat some likely am qew traffic.

After dong some QEW time, this one is is a nice, leisurely scenic route through some quaint towns,
historic route, through the Falls area & continuing with a leisurely meander along the Niagra river to Ft Erie.

Part of this route is quite unknown but popular with bikers & other car clubs alike.
Winston Churchill once stated that part of this route is one of the 'prettiest drives in the world'.

It will start from the Mapleview mall parking lot at in Burlington (QEW & Plains Rd area).
Please be food & gas filled so we can leave at 9;30 am sharp.
It's best to gas up first, then meet outside the north side of the mall.

General route guide:
Burlington mall depart to qew towards niagara.
we'll be getting off the QEW at 7th Street Louth, RR 34, proceeding to pt Dalhousie lakeside carousel/park parking lot. (we can stop there if anyone from that area announces that they'll be meeting the group there instead).
depart the port/park, lakeport to lakeshore rd, cross the lift bridge at lock 1.
proceed to Niagara on the lake, then follow the parkway all the into/through Niagara falls, to chippawa.
stop at timmies for coffee/drinks food/washrooms at bridge in chippawa.
proceed along Niagara pkwy again to ft erie. stop at old ft erie mather park.
part 1 cruise end.

From there, we can either decide to do lunch in ridgeway a little further along or wecan do part 2 of the cruise, which is to go back along the route we came and people can stop/depart
at their leisure.

Suggested highlights/activities you can do on the return/reverse leg that we've discovered in the past:
Numerous viewpoints/stops along the parkway for a rest/drink/nap/stretch/quickies etc...
winery stops along the route; some are right off the parkway & a couple of good ones for photo ops...
dufferin islands & other Niagara falls touristy activities (whirpool, the falls, the botanical clock (imagine a bunch of fieros lined up in front of it!), adam beck hydro station lookout, the gorge), queenston heights park)
fruit markets, ft George,
ice cream in Niagara on the lake,
watching ships through the canal in pt weller (welland canals pkwy),
the 5 cent carousel in pt Dalhousie!!!

who's in?

I'm very interested in coming pending how the evening of the 27th turns out for me. We're supposed to be at a birthday party on the 27th and may or may not be spending the night (would render meeting up in the morning in Burlington unlikely).

I will know more as we get a little closer to that weekend.

I screwed up - my callender reading skills are lacking aparantly

I thought I had another weekend between last weekend and the cruise weekend. Yesterday I pulled my rear struts to get ready to put my new ones in, and I have to wait for my camber bolts to come in before I can re-install and get an alignment - now I'm pissed I started and might miss this.

Hopefully my bolts will arrive before friday night so I can get it put back together and in for an aligment on Sat morning :?

I might have to miss as well. If everything goes according to plan, my car will be undergoing a 3800 transplant beginning Friday. I'd like to wait, but I'm on holidays this week and Friday will probably be my last chance to get it dropped off. Moving the donor car tomorrow for prep work.

that's ok; family & health comes 1st!

wx looks good 4 tomorrow; only 30% chance of a shower, 21C, nice to be driving, but bring a light jacket sweater as its near some H2O.

looking 4ward to seeing whoever can make it and there will be more for those who can't!

Sorry guys. As much as I want to come along my co-pilot can no longer join me today and i don't have anyone to fill her spot. I don't really feel like talking to myself the whole time so I think I'm going to sit this one out :(
