I am a new member as well as a new owner of a 85 GT with 4 speed manual that is 100% original, except for an updated radio. Only has 68,000KMS. It has been repainted as original paint faded. Living in Fisherville (near Port Dover) I had the pleasure of driving it before putting it away for winter. Unfortunately as pleasurable as my last drive was fun, I noticed it was just borderline overheating when I stopped to fill it up with gas. I forgot to turn on the AC as the previous owner has suggested. I look forward to driving it shortly here in the country on the many winding roads and who knows, maybe hook up with other members. I am sure many if not all of the members on this site are well aware of this overheating problem and I am curious how you overcame the issue. I know the previous owner changed the thermostat, not sure if he purged it properly though. I am thinking about installing a manual rad fan switch and replacing the air intake aftermarket setup to the original airbox which came with the car.
Oh well, talk to you later, Pat
