Hey folks, I have an 88 GT that i am planning on installing a 5.7 in. I was wondering if the Isusu 5 spd was strong enough to stand up to that kind of power. Also, does anyone have the contact info for V8 Archie. I went to his website and the ph#s and email info is partially blocked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm certainly no pro but I was under the impression that the isuzu could barely cope with the 2.8, only really holding up in that scenerio if driven gingerly and pretty babied. I think a 5.7 might be a little too much for it

From what I've read, best 5 speed would be the F23 from the cavalier I believe. Pete (cam-a-lot) has one and I've heard it hold up pretty good to the 3800 S/C and feels better then the stock getrag.
