As I expected, the double-din install didn't go perfectly. I somehow managed to cut a good 1/4" too much above the radio to the sides of the heater controls, and the bezel cracked while I was trimming it. I've seen worse jobs, but I know it will drive me nuts if I don't get this looking better than it does. So now I'm really in need of a replacement bezel, unless anybody has any suggestions on how to do a cosmetic fix on this:

**I haven't tried this on the Fiero bezel, but did with my Elantra one.
If you're wanting to repair and then repaint the bezel, grab yourself a soldering iron and a larger flat-tip - rather than the normal pointed one.
Slowly melt the plastic and let it cool. You can take some of the stuff you trimmed as stock to re-fill the gaps.

*Tip -the plastic will shrink when cooling, so be careful it doesn't warp anything. Should fully cool/set within 1-2mins, depending on how large of a heated area you made.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I still have quite a few pieces of the 'leavings'. Pretty sure I can trim down the ones that came out of there, which should fit nicely minus a dremel blade width.

test with the scraps - so you get a feel for what it will do... oh and don't inhale
If you need more stock - just find some other solid plastic and you should be good - abs-type

Once again, Rob, being the stand up guy that he is, came through for me with a replacement bezel. I wasn't going to make the same mistake again, so I took the old "measure twice, cut once" approach. The difference is night and day. Thanks again Rob!

Looks a lot cleaner then mine that's for sure 8-)

I wanted to put the A/C controls down low to try to be different & stay away from the stick shift. Might have to see about re designing mine. Come end of summer you got to update how using the touch screen in that location works for you. With mine being in the center, I've had no issue with reach and use.

I'm glad that you found a solution to your problem. If I was in your situation, I would have laser cut a nice piece of brushed stainless to fit! Then make a matching speedo surround too! But hey, I work in a fab shop and have access to a Mitsubishi laser.
