I actually thought the noise sounded like exhaust as well, but figured best to get home and have a look at it. You know how we can be with our cars, we want them to be as close to perfect as possible. I had no idea what was in store for me, I don't think anybody expects something like this to happen. Just a note for future cruises, you should maybe make a habit of collecting cell phone numbers for everybody on the ride, even for something as simple as getting separated, and of course for the disastrous as well. Hope you guys had a good ride, the weather certainly was nice enough for it. Who knows, there could be another weekend or two left before everybody retires their rides for the winter.

Cheers!

Hey Cameron.
I'm sorry to hear of this tragic event. I was watching your progress on the " What did you do to your Fiero today?" thread, and I was really liking the outcome. Your car was really coming along well! I'm glad you're safe though, that's the important part. I guess the man in the sky was looking out for you that day. Will there be another Fiero in the future?

Hey Cameron

before you totally give up on these shitboxes for good.. consider this one as a replacement! Looks like a good price if the car is in nice shape

:o :o :o
That's Dave's car "Davey E bouy" on Pennocks. Last I knew he had a 3800 S/C in the car, his son was playing with the N*'s though. He was a regular with the London meets & cruises.

Hey Cameron , the phone list is exactly what we talked about at lunch after I saw what happened to you. We also usually bring FRS radio's for convoys' looks like we'll always be bringing them now.

PS I saw Dave's 3800sc swap and it was very well engineered, if the northstar is anywhere close to the same quality that is a steal of a deal.

I hope to find out in the next day or two how they are going to treat me. This will have a huge impact on if I get another Fiero or not.

Ah yes the insurance drama starts.

I hope you have an active appraisal on this vehicle, and dealt with a Broker and not directly with the Insurance Carrier.

Both will can make a huge difference in what you are about to experience.

We have never met, however I am a retired Appraiser/Adjuster and have dealt with several forensic appraisal situations on special interest/classic vehicles in the past very successfully.

If I can be of any assistance, just get ahold of me.

asylummotorsports@yahoo.ca

Or PM me on here

Just don't sign or accept anything until you are satisfied.

Good Luck.

P.S. I am NOT looking for any sort of compensation in any way whatsoever!. Just a fellow enthusiast.

I saw Dave's car at a show in Strathroy. I was impressed, anyway.

Any good news from your insurance company yet, might also be a good idea to see if you can get the car back as some of the parts will be salvageable. The engine and tranny mount brackets should be good still and possibly the clutch assembly and flywheel as they are kind of shielded inside the bell housing. The fuel pump might also be ok as well as any thing up front like the rad etc... Just a thought or find out what wreckers she ends up at.

No news yet, the appraiser went to see it on Thursday. I'll definitely be finding out if I can pick at the carcass or where it ends up. The front wheels and tires are worth $750 new, and they only have a few thousand kms on them. Also the car has a gen II headlight upgrade, so the motors and module are good for sure, but don't know if the harness will be. I did think about the motor mounts as well, they would be worth something, and if the clutch is salvageable that's a bonus. I'll let you know when I hear back, which will hopefully be in the next couple of days.

The insurance will usually let you buy it back for salvage price which is 200-300, I've done it a couple times as has a buddy. Just be sure to ask because they do not volunteer that option.
