Post subject:  3800 series 1 (4t65E-HD) Axle build questions

Hello all,

Is anyone familiar with building the passenger side axle for the 3800 S1 swap?

info seems to vary. I have the buick riviera 95 tulips (splined ends that connect with the bearing and the transmission) some say to use manual fiero axles to build the rest but I have no clue :/

can I use GT manual axles? does it have to be a manual 4 cyl axle?

much confusion here ahaha.

if your tranny is the HD one then you need the inner from the pass side of a GTP or Regal GS series II to work with as the series I and series II H body axles do not work with the Fiero manual axles. The 4T60E has an oddball driver's side inner so best axle for that side is one from a 92 to 95 Trans sport van that had the 4t60E and use the Fiero manual outer with it. For pass side the Fiero driver's side manual axle can be used with the before mentioned GTP inner but is a little on the short side but will work. There is also a few other options that will work.

I don't know about the series 1, but for a series 2 I built it with GTP dirvers side axle, GTP passengers side inner, and an outer from a GT manual. Haven't test fit it yet, will hopefully get to that this weekend.
