Hey there, is it possible for the clutch to go without giving me much warning or indication?
I do not drive it much at all, then all of a sudden i can't put it in reverse to get it out of the
garage. When i finally get it out i can't shift gears? It pedal feels spongy like a bad clutch is
suppose to feel.Just want to know if there's any other explanation?
Thanks 85 GT

check your clutch fluid level, see if it's leaking anywhere. When the master starts to leak, it like to leak inside your car behind your carpet. The slave likes to leak into the rubber protector for the push rod and accumulate.
Does the pedal go straight to the floor without any pressure? you should feel pressure almost from the top of the pedal, maybe 1/2" play to start off with.

Air in the lines?

I just ordered a new master and slave because I'm currently having to bleed my clutch line about once a month.

4spd? Check for a break in the clutch slave bracket.
The cast aluminum can crack... if so order a steel one from Rodney.

In addition to the early style clutch master, the crimps on the stainless steel flex line rust and cause leak, the flex line attaches the long hard line from under the car to the slave cylinder, if you are ordering a new clutch master you may want to order the clutch line repair also. Even if you disturb that flex line when changing the slave it will leak afterwards, If you don't end up using it I'll buy it from you because I have a piece of hard brake line with a compression fitting on my Formula as a temp fix until I get a new flex line repair from RD. It works but I don't like worrying about losing hydraulic pressure coming in on a hot landing, Nearly crashed and burned once already.
