Do I need to drain all the fluid or just what's in the bracket?

Last night while lying in bed thinking (I know, lying in bed thinking about the car.. I need to get help) about the noise it was making and it occurred to me that the spring may have come out of its perch and the noise I was hearing was the spring spinning around and occasionally getting caught back in the groove that holds it in the right spot. Will find out this weekend I guess.

The pain in replacing this piece is you have to drain fluid first and the plastic elbows for fluid quite often break when removing it. the rest of the bracket is not altered for the dog bone bracket it all bolts to the two holes on top

All of the pictures I saw had the part coming with new elbows, probably because they tend to break but I don't recall seeing them in the box. Will have to check when I get home. Good news about the bracket being intact, thanks.

The part didn't come with the elbows so I went back to the parts store and they got me a pair, but they charged me $4.00. I should have said something about charging for something that should have come with the part, but they're pretty good to me so I kept my mouth shut. Got it all together and everything looks good so far, but I got a call from work and had to take an hour and a half unscheduled break. Time to take it for a spin and make sure everything holds together.

Can someone re-name this thread Belts or something? It's pretty difficult to browse and search the forums otherwise....
