Looking at doing some A-pillar gauges so I can add boost and volts. I've heard a few bad things about TFS pillar pods. Seems the Autometer 20100 made for the Acura Integra is the unit of choice. Not too pricey but then I need to pick up a couple of gauges. Funny thing is the one that comes alone looks like a different contour than the one that comes with the gauges.

There's one on eBaythat has the Acura pods with choice of 2 gauges, but the curve on the pod assembly doesn't look the same.

If I went this way, which would be better for a 3800sc boost gauge?

If you want accuracy buy the boost gauge in person as I have seen a lot of them lately even top of the line ones reading a few pounds of boost sitting in the box. The Fiero store pillar pod is pretty good and I have used it on a few of my Fieros now with out any problems. Also for boost gauge buy the small copper tubing instead of using the plastic stuff.

Thanks Dan. So of the two styles of gauges, which would be better? The one that shows negative boost or the 0-35 style?

I would go with the one that also shows negative boost so you know the engine has good vacuum when not into the boost

I was leaning toward that type, so you've just confirmed it for me. Cheers!

I had one on my old 85GT, it was a from a Honda or Acura I got from the Fiero Shop (Race Tech) it was almost a perfect fit, slight sanding of the edges to match the Fiero a pillar. Wish I pulled it out of the car before I sold it.

Used black counter sunk screws to secure it, could barely see them.

Looks good.... drop a boost gauge in place of the oil and that's pretty much what I'm looking for. How difficult was it to set up the volt meter? Seeing as you did it in an '85 and I have an '85, you may be able to offer some words of wisdom. Cheers!

volt meter was easy, just have to wire it into a power supply. Why don't you get a three pod set-up, oil, volts & boost. Then you can upgrade your cluster to an 87/88 style that doesn't have the oil pressure gauge but a 180km speedo though. ;)

I thought about doing the 3 gauge, but from what I've seen the 3 gauge pods are too big for the Fiero A-pillar and there's some cutting involved. I'm not the best when it comes to finesse work so I'd probably end up not doing it quite right and then I'd have to stare at my imperfect work every time I drive. I tend to be a bit nuts when it comes to that sort of thing.... that being said, it would be nice to move the oil pressure to the A-pillar.

depending on how energetic you get, look here at a 3 pod set-up.

Ya, that looks a bit out of my league. My basement took me 7 months to finish, and this would probably take me about the same unfortunately. One thing I've also been trying to figure out is what to do for power. I've already got my power locks and backup camera on the plug-ins on the fuse panel, and was thinking it might be better to have a fuse block to run things off of rather than create an octopus. The fuse block here looks like it takes a single feed and branches out to 3 separate lines. Unfortunately I haven't been able to track down one that looks like it, just a couple that appear to add a fuse to an already powered line.

Found this on eBay/Amazon -

That 6 spot fuse panel is in stock at Pricess Auto, 15 bucks:

I have 4 of them in my boat. As a matter of fact I designed and 3d printed a cover for two of them side by side if you're interested. :)

the scales on the boost guages usually run from 15 psi and up.
if you are running less than 15 psi don't use a 20 or 30 psi guage as it wont be as legible at 6psi etc
FYI "negative boost" is called vacuum...
