Looking for some help on this one.

Ive got an 88GT with a 3800sc series2 swap. I have the following mods. 180 degree tstat, zzp power log, ported rear, ceramic coated cross over, running a 3.4 pulley. Im using a Delphi FEO114 in tank fuel pump. I was getting a tune done the other day and everything seems great until I run WOT then I dont get enough fuel. The computer is commanding it but just not getting it. I was told by other members that this fuel pump is more than enough for my set up. So I started with a fuel filter change and that did nothing. So I hooked up a pressure gauge and at idle I was at 42 psi. I changed the fuel pressure reg and I run about 44psi but no difference with the problem. Im not sure what to do next. If i pinch the return line off the pressure will rise to 65 psi or more so I believe the pump is fine. Any Ideas?
Steve

Are there any bad injectors, that pump is good for a lot more mods then you have so far so doubt that is the problem and the tune should be able to get you down to that sized pulley with no KR. only thing I can think of right off is going to colder spark plugs with the tune. I prefer the auto lite copper 104's on these engines then colder if needed none of that platinum or fancy crap just plain coppers.

If you're running the stock 2.8L fuel pump, I don't think it's enough to run the 3800 S/C. I'm using an 88 Vette pump with my 3400 swap and my pressure is around 55PSI. When I first did the swap, I was using the stock pump and notice it was running out of steam in fourth gear when I was pushing it.

The FE0114 is a replacement pump for the Cyclone truck 4.3 turbo and is more then enough for even the modified 3800SC engine.

I think I need to get some more info. I'm just going by what the guy said who was tuning the car. He said at wot it was commanding fuel but just not getting it. He isn't a mechanic so I wonder if I'm being led the wrong direction by his statement and focusing on a fuel issue. It seems to run fine until I stomp on it then it kinda chokes a bit. Could this also be a maf/Vacuum issue?

If you're getting 42PSI at idle, that pressure will drop at WOT, to me that doesn't sound like you don't have enough pressure. I was getting 45PSI at idle with the stock Fiero pump & maybe 40PSI at WOT. You have the right pump for the Typhoon, but the pressure seems low even for that vehicle being turbocharged. Maybe contact VortecFiero on the forum. He actually has the Typhoon motor in a Fiero, see what fuel pump he is running and what is his PSI values are.

This was what someone posted on pennocks. What do ya think?
According to napaonline.com, the Delphi FE0114 fuel pump is supposed to flow 27 gal/hr at 425 kpa of fuel pressure (or, 162 lb/hr at 61 psi).

162 lb/hr will only support up to 249 crank HP on a super or turbocharged engine with a Brake Specific Fuel Consumption factor of 0.65.

The Delphi FE0114 is supposed to be Delphi's equivalent pump to the Delco EP-381. NAPAONLINE used to have these same pumps rated at 32 gal/hr flow rate but they seem to have since revised the flow numbers down within the last year. It is very possible the new products Delphi is producing are of less quality and capability than those produced just a few years ago.

In any case, what you really need to do is get a fuel pressure gauge on your fuel rail and watch it at WOT. Set static fuel pressure to 50 psi (no vacuum or boost acting on regulator), plug the vac/boost line back into the regulator, and then observe fuel pressure at WOT and see what it does. If your supercharger is making about 10psi of boost at WOT, then you should be seeing about 60 psi of fuel pressure. If you don't see the pressure staying this high, then something in your fuel system (likely the fuel pump) is not able to keep up with the fueling demands of the engine.

Well you are already above that rating. You have to at least have 250HP at the wheels.

Figures we have a nice pump that is quieter then the Walbro and easy to buy and they have to go and change it.

I had a Walbro in mine, seemed to work really well, never seemed to be looking for more even at WOT

I have a new Walbro heavy duty sitting in my storage unit right now not being used. Only thing I don't like about them is the metal gears inside, they are little louder then normal and they need gas to keep it cool. Mean you shouldn't be running your tank dry very often.

Well got the new pump in and it didnt solve anything. I re gapped my plugs to .50 and everything is good now. Annoying thing is the Walbro pump is loud but I can live with it. Im assuming the spark was being blown out under boost but why would this look like im not getting enough fuel?

Yup, reason why I didn't put a Walboro in either. can't stand the noise. What was you plugs gapped to before? I know stock is .060 but as soon as you start modding and changing the plug temp, most guys I know run about .055 gap.
