The solenoid has 2 small hoses going to throttle body and to the EGR valve respectively. There is a 3rd larger hose, about 1 metre long, from the front (car front) of the solenoid. WHAT DOES THIS 3rd HOSE CONNECT TO?

ALSO: There is a large gauge black wire from the backside of the engine (car front) now headed toward the trans. What does it connect to?

Gotta get this car on the road before snowfall. Cooling fan non-operative; maybe I should take the Teflon tape of the temp sensor......... If that doesn't solve problem I will install aftermarket switch with rad temp. sensor.

3rd hose is the air intake, you can leave it open like most people do. The stock hose went to the firewall where it plugged into a metal hose line that would run to the driver side of the car and from there back to rubber line to the underside of your air intake canister.

there are a few ground lines on the "Front" of the motor (firewall side) one that comes out from inside you car and runs with the fuel pump relay harness, that ground wire attaches to the inside of your decklid hinge support. Another larger ground line with the main harness attaches down low where your transmission bolts to your engine. That one should be a stud bolt. If your car still has it, there is a ground line from that same transmission bolt to the side frame on your car (driver side) There's a ground strap that bolts to the passenger decklid hinge (lower nut) and other end to a stud that bolts your rear section of the dog bone support to the side of the block. Last ground if from your battery to a headbolt stud closet to the battery.

coolant fan is operated by the single wire switch. It sits right beside the cold start injector sensor by your T-stat housing. It should not have any teflon tape on it. it requires the block as it's ground source. If you really want to use the tape, don't cover all the treads with it. Leave half of them open for good contact.

Is you car A/C? if so you can turn on you fan by selecting one of the A/C positions. If that does not work, either your relay is gone bad or your fan motor.

You can install a manual switch for the fan easily. remove your center console and in the main harness bundle under it, find a wire that's green with white stripe. "Tap" a line into the wire without cutting the wire into two pieces. Attach that line to a toggle switch. Then attach another line from the second lead of the toggle switch with the other end straight to a ground source (Frame). You now can turn your fan off and on a will as long as your relay & fan motor are good. Just find a place to put your toggle switch for your convenience.
