So I'm in the process of changing my exhaust manifold gaskets and found the top bolt on the trunk side by the alternator is broken.

Has anybody had any luck extracting one without dropping the cradle or removing the head?

Thanks,

Chris.

Very tough spot to get at might be easier if you can just get the rear cradle bolts out and jack the body up with out the cradle to open the gap more, the cradle will pivot on the front two bolts. If not then you are left with the decision of which is easier to pull just the head or the entire engine

I chose to take the head off, either way is lots of work but you may end dropping the cradle and still need to take head off. If the cradle hasn't been removed in forever, be prepared !

broken off bolts can be a real pain and can either come out fairly easily or require a machine shop to get them out or in extreme cases better to replace the head, If you are looking for a replacement V6 engine a friend has one out of his 88 formula that was pulled for a 3800SC swap still available. can put you in touch with him if wanted
