I'm really starting to feel like a hack!

First off, the pump was running great with the old fuel sending unit which needed replacement as the fuel gauge was not working.

So, drop the tank, replace the pump as the "new" one was toast. Bench tested newly configured setup, both fuel gauge & pump working great. Once everything is back installed, prime the system directly (power to grey wire) and fire the beast up. Dies 10 seconds later, then starvation. I hear the fuel pump relay at pre-ignition but no squirt (presently disconnected from the battery). Fuel pump fuse OK.

Any thoughts?

More info. No power coming from the supply wire to the fuel pump (at prime or crank). At least I now know it's something outside the tank :).

check the relay, ECM controls it so ecm could be turning it off or something is up. I like the Fiero set-up personally. If the oil pressure sensor is back-up power to the pump if relay power fails as long as there's 5PSI of pressure in the motor.

I missed a fuse. The custom setup is a direct feed off the engine bay open post. I must have blown it testing the new-for-me sending unit which had a bad pump.

All is right in the world !!!
