I have a 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula. This is a Georgia car and is essentially rust free. I bought it with the intention of building my ultimate Fiero but sometimes life changes and I have lost interest. It has a 3800 supercharged motor, plus 4 speed auto trans from a 1999 Grand Prix. It also has the after market wheels with decent tires as seen in the pic. The paint is 30 years old and it shows. If you're interested in building up a Fiero this would be a great platform to start with. The suspension has been completely upgraded with all poly-urethane bushings, new tierod/balljoints, plus all new KYB shocks and struts. The wiring and axle work, the toughest part of a 3800 conversion has been done. Unfortunately it also has a coolant leak, possibly intake manifold gasket, and I have parked it. I don't really have the itch or the space to work on Fieros anymore and so, sadly, after being a Fiero guy for 12 years and 10 different Fieros, I am done. $2000.00 as it sits. If I have to spend time to fix it the price will go up. I do have the parts and will include them in the sale. I also have some other Fiero odds and ends if anyone is interested. Call or text Dave 519 381 - zero two six seven.

Edited to add that the trunk has been cut to accommodate exhaust

I am interested however I have nowhere to fix it and it sounds like it could be expensive to take to a shop. (Living in a condo sucks at times).
How much fixed?

EDIT!!
THANX for the link!
OK I have thought about this quite a bit and I am very interested. Hell it's even the right colour, even though I will have to re-paint it I suspect, LOL!
Now the silly questions.
How bad is the coolant leak? Is it internal for sure? Is the oil "chocolate milk"?
That will wipe out the cam and the bearings in a damn hurry.
What converter is in it?
Mileage on both the engine and trans?
Has the drivetrain been "tuned" for the car? I'm assuming it's still OBD I.
If you don't fix it and I take the car "as-is" is there someone in the Hamilton/Toronto area willing to look at this and fix it for under a Million Dollars?
This is the combination that really has my interest, but a couple red flags are looming.
Thanx
Eric ;)

I can't really tell you how bad the coolant leak is because I don't really even know where it is. Here's what I do know. I drive it, it runs fine but has a strong coolant smell. Since I really only do highway driving all is good. I top up the coolant every couple of days. What I have noticed is that when I get off the highway the temps start to come up. Some times dramatically, not over heating or anything but getting right up there. I don't know what that may mean, just telling you what's been going on. There is no coolant in the motor oil. Initially I thought it was the water pump and have since replaced that so it's new. Sadly it did not cure the problem. It occurs to me that it could be the yellow o-rings between the supercharger and LIM since I did have the supercharger off for painting. Hmmmmm. Anyways back to the car, not sure of the mileage on the drive train. I got it from a local wrecking yard. Was supposed to be in the 180's but who knows. The torque converter will be stock to 99 Grand Prix. It is OBD II and the pcm was "tuned" by someone that really didn't know what they were doing. Dan (Fieroflyer on here) could take care of that.

This is a really good deal the kind that does not come along very often, if it is just a matter of a coolant leak then a fairly cheap set of gaskets and an hour or two of work will fix it. If some one wants to buy the car and bring it by I can hive them a hand going over the car and as long as they do most of the work there will be no charge cause I fully understand what it is like to not have a place to work on your own car

I am very interested in this car but would appreciate some advice on just how to handle it.
Of course the weather isn't helping.

Common coolant leaks on the 3800 are the LIM gasket, and the coolant elbows that connect the engine to the tensioner housing.

If you are looking at the car try reving it up a bit while looking closely at the the elbows, that's where mine was leaking (FYI they now sell aluminum replacement elbows).

Either of those are an easy, quick inexpensive fix that I could help you with (Dundas Ont is where my workshop is).

It could easily be many other things leaking though.

Thanx to everyone, but I am out on this one.
180 K on a blower motor and an issue that could potentially be a majour concern doesn't get my interest even at a very conservative price.
That said, the body alone is probably worth more than he is asking, but I can't do a project at this point.
I am still in the market for a complete running car.
Cheers

FWIW there are no coolant elbows on this setup. No dogbone either if anyone cares.

Will It be staying with us in the Fiero community or crossing the border?
