Found a youtube feed and looks a little clearer. Did you need to purchase the pressure plate compressor and the lock-pin removal tool, or were you able to use something else?

Bought the one tool to remove the ring clip, made my own to remove the two side pins.

Well, I was quite successful in pulling the steering column apart. Yes the inner bolts are a bit loose but is not my issue. The column base in which the bolts attach is cracked at the back and thus, unless I get it welded, she's a goner.

So you have a manual column available? When you heading out to the unit next?
