Long story but I started working in my 85 steering rack to get it ready to for the project and when I took off the rubber bushings low and behold the alum under the bushings was rotted beyond repair.

I don't wanna grab another 84-87 since I've got a 88 setup, so if somebody has an 88 around toss me a price, if not I'm looking at flaming river/helix mustang II universal steering racks and making a bracket that will bolt it all up

Hey Jer,

Forget the hard to find 88 specific rack. We should use 98-02 F-body racks. We could whip up mounts easily enough. This way we can stay with "main stream" parts. And the future option for power steering! I think some others would like a kit of some kind. We could do it easily enough.

Agreed, I've been searching info about flaming river/helix mustang 2 racks though, they are more main stream than fbodies and probably cheaper and everywhere, from rough measurements they look like they might be a perfect substitute, rack travel, location and length are close enough for the women I go out with.
