I also hope not to get left behind at the border again - like when we went to the NYFOC meet 2yrs ago.
Where you turned back or did they just leave you to find your own way down?
We travel together, so we stick together. A good rule in convoys is to watch the guy behind you & make sure they're keeping up. You loose sight of they're car, he/she doesn't know where to go next so slow down & let them catch up to you. Eventually it will be like a caterpillar effect and everybody slow down till whomever catches up with the pack.
Speed control: In Canada, I have no problem with doing about 15km over the limit, that's a slap on the wrist ticket, no points deducted. When we're in the states, we stick to the limit +/- 2mph, I don't want any hassle with law enforcement down there. How does everyone else feel about speed limit in Canada? Gas mileage can be a concern for most of us.
I have my 3 FRS with me, dad will be getting one & Luke the other. Just set my FRS's to the channel, seems the last time I used them was on July 24 (20??)
My dad will be driving down in his shadow (the Chrysler P-body
), so there will be room in his car for anything. Thought about trying to put my tent in his car for the show, but might not fit. Just barely fits in the back of my old SE with blower motor removed. It would be good for those just in case rainy weather but can't really secure it down in a parking lot.
Sargeants, are you picking up Brian on the way out or is he being dropped of at the meet point?
I got my GPS with me, cell phone plus a couple of old unlocked cell phones for me & my dad. Planning on getting pre paid international cards while we're down there to keep in touch. Telus gave me the unlock codes for free
